"Washable" in this context means that you can simply put the carpet in the washing machine to clean it - it really couldn't be easier.
The carpets in question are usually made of cotton and can therefore simply be "crumpled up" and put in the machine like a piece of laundry.
This is an invaluable advantage, especially for carpets in the nursery or children's room. Stains are almost the order of the day here. And in the nursery, the one or other "natural" substances are sometimes the reason for the soiling.
